Carbon 60 ([60] fullerene) is a non-metallic element with the chemical formula of C60. It is a molecule composed of 60 carbon atoms, similar to football, also known as football alkene. C60 is a stable molecule formed by the combination of carbon atoms. Its molecular weight is about 720.

According to the nomenclature principle of organic chemistry system, alkenes are hydrocarbons containing double bonds, while C60 and its series of carbon clusters are simple substances composed entirely of carbon atoms, not compounds or alkenes. Therefore, some chemists do not agree to use the name fullerene. The name fullerene is still used in books and literatures because it needs to respect the established custom.

Because the shape and structure of C60 molecule is similar to soccer, it is also known as soccer ene, which is translated as soccer ene in Chinese. Others use the prefix "buck" in Fuller's name, which is called"buckyball"and is translated as"buckyball" in Chinese.
